Eye in eye with Ganesha

I found this neat little figure in a small shop in Vienna. It is Ganesha, one of the best-known and most-worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. I always thought he looked funny, friendly and likable.

Happy Ducks

One thing is for sure: you can not watch ducks and not feel better.
Unbelievable that there are some people out there that eat these wonderful beings.

The Palm House

The palm house in the gardens of Schönbrunn castle is one of my facourite spots of Vienna.
Built in 1881, it was the last one of this kind in Europe.

Eckhart Tolle in Munich

This weekend, we have been to a lecture by Eckhart Tolle in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich.
The event was held in a wonderful, baroque monastery, surrounded by beautiful parks.
It was fascinating, and immensely touching. How much difference a little stillness and awareness can make in your life!

Some people back at work referred to Eckhart Tolle as a guru. They could not be more wrong. He is just a human being that speaks about life, the true life beyond that madness we see everyday all around and in us. He speaks out of the silence that he recognized as his essence - and the essence of all things.

If you ever have the chance to attend one of his lectures, by all means, do it!

BTW, later I learned that Eckhart Tolle is a talented nature photographer himself. But my camera stayed at home this time…
